I’m a UX designer with a background in jewelry design, currently freelancing from the Netherlands. I have a multifaceted understanding of the connection that people have with both digital and physical products.
I design, create, test and improve user experiences and interfaces. I bridge the gap between humans and products.
By using the VeganChallenge app participants challenge themselves to eat vegan during the time of one month.
I design, (re)create, repair and restore jewelry and objects. I translate human emotions into ornaments.
Old jewelry pieces of emotional importance from bride and groom were used to create a set of wedding rings.

The aspect I love most about being a designer is the fact there’s still a need for tailored and handcrafted products nowadays. I’m passionate about the challenge and process of bridging connections between one’s internal and external world. My ambition is to create meaningful products and experiences that can change lives in a positive way (online and offline).
I’m also passionate about human and animal rights and social justice. I strongly believe design and technology can be leveraged to benefit humanity and I love brainstorming about ideas for platforms that have the potential to better society.
As soon as I was able to dial-up connection with a modem (I was born in the mid ‘80s) I became fascinated by all things digital. Growing up in the ‘90s with the rise of the World Wide Web you could find me behind the computer. I’ve been online since the early days of Netscape, ICQ and Napster. A glorious time when frames, tables and animated GIFs were still cool. Besides gaming, I spent hours on building websites (first in GeoCities and later in HTML and CSS) and designing all kinds of stuff.
In my early teenage years I also wanted to learn a craft and began following professional lessons in goldsmithing. I directly got hooked. I loved working and creating things with my hands. Forging, sawing, filing, soldering, polishing: I was pretty good at it. After the lessons goldsmithing became a hobby. I had no idea yet that there was a special goldsmith education in the Netherlands.
Both passions became my work. In 2010 I completed the goldsmith education at the Vocational School for Gold- and Silversmiths in Schoonhoven by traditionally completing an apprenticeship: creating my masterpiece. In 2012 I pursued my other goal: studying Communication & Multimedia Design at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and becoming a UX designer. In 2016 I graduated with a 9 (thesis).

When I’m not behind a screen or workbench you’d most probably find me among birds. I’m a huge lover of birds (a birdnerd). I do voluntary work at a bird sanctuary and petting zoo, tremendously enjoy birdwatching and take care of my own feathered friends.
